Indika Reggae Band
Chicago, Illinois
Indika Reggae Band is one of Chicago’s premier cultural ambassadors, blending world-class musicianship with the rich traditions of the Caribbean, Africa, and the Americas. Founded in the mid-1990s and deeply rooted in the city’s vibrant music scene, Indika has grown into a dynamic collective known for its electrifying performances and its commitment to cultural unity through music.

Today, the band is led by U-Roy Muslar, a Belizean-born vocalist with a commanding stage presence, and his partner Ana, who together are guiding the group into a powerful new era of growth and visibility. Their leadership honors the band’s legacy while infusing it with fresh vision, energy, and a renewed dedication to sharing reggae’s universal message of love, resilience, and justice.
Indika’s lineup reflects the true diversity of Chicago, with gifted musicians representing Central America, the Caribbean, and Africa. Their sound is a genre-blending celebration—roots reggae at its core, enriched with elements of Dancehall, Soca, Calypso, Punta, R&B, jazz, and Kompa—that transcends borders and connects people of all backgrounds.

A trusted name in live entertainment, Indika has graced some of the city’s most iconic stages, including The Wild Hare, Navy Pier, and the United Center, and has built a loyal fanbase throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Kansas, and Arkansas. Their talents have also been recognized by legends in the reggae world, having served as the backing band for artists such as Gregory Isaacs, Luciano, Richie Spice, and Calypso Rose.

Indika has been honored with multiple Martin Intercultural Music Awards and continues to serve as a beacon of Chicago’s multicultural identity—celebrating the power of music to heal, uplift, and unite communities across generations.
